COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
TRAPS, DRAIN, PLUMBING FIXTURE (P-TRAP) (LAND USE)
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial
item description for all Federal agencies.
1. SCOPE
1.1 Scope. This commercial item description covers plumbing fixture drain traps (P-traps), for general purpose waste systems.
2. CLASSIFICATION
2.1 Classification. The drain traps shall be of the following type and
size, as specified (see 7.3).
Type – 106
Size - 1-1/2 inch (38.1 mm) diameter.
Type – 114
Size - 1-1/2 inch (38.1 mm) diameter.
Type – 115
Size - 1-1/4 inch (31.7 mm) diameter.
3. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS
3.1 Standard product. Except as otherwise specified herein, drain traps
(P-traps) covered by this commercial item description shall be the
manufacturer’s standard commercial product, and one of the types illustrated in
Figure 1, as specified (see 7.3).
3.2 Materials. Materials not specifically specified shall be the quality used
in commercial practice.
3.2.1 Cast copper alloy P-trap. Except as otherwise specified herein, cast
copper alloy P-traps shall conform to the requirements of ASME/ANSI B16.23.
