COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
SOAP HOLDER, DISPOSABLE
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description by all federal agencies.
1. SCOPE
1.1 Scope. This commercial item description (CID) covers a disposable, rectangular shaped plastic soap holder, intended for storing and individual bar of soap.
2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS
2.1 Material. Soap holders shall be of nonflammable type plastic.
2.2 Nesting. The holders shall be stackable, one within another, for storage.
2.3 Dimensions. Inside bottom dimensions shall be a minimum of 3 inches (76.2 mm) long, 1-3/4 inches (44.4 mm) wide, and 7/16 inch (11.1 mm) deep.
2.4 Air Circulation. Raised ribs to provide for air circulation drying shall be a minimum of 3/32 inch (2.3 mm) in height and shall be the entire length of the holder.
2.5 Color. The plastic holders shall be clear or pastel shade at the option of the manufacturer.
2.6 Workmanship. Holders shall be free holes, sharp edges, fins or projections, or other defects that would affect appearance, function, or serviceability.
2.7 Measurement system. The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as the standard. The metric values stated in parentheses are information purposes only.
