COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
DISPENSER, TOILET PAPER, CABINET
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description by all federal agencies.
1. SCOPE
1.1 Scope. This commercial item description (CID) covers toilet paper dispenser cabinets for other than residential use.
2. CLASSIFICATION
2.1 Classification. The toilet paper dispensers shall be of the following type and class, as specified (see 7.3).
Type II - Surface mounted vertically. Holds 2 rolls of tissue.
Class A - Carbon steel cabinet with bright chromium plated finish or stainless steel with polished mirror finish.
Class B - Stainless steel cabinet with satin finish.
Type III - Recess mounted vertically. Holds 2 rolls of tissue. Carbon steel cabinet with mounting flange and a bright chromium plated finish or stainless steel with a polished mirror finish.
Type IV - Surface mounted vertically. Holds 3 rolls of tissue.
Class B - Stainless steel cabinet with satin finish.
Class C - Aluminum cabinet with white painted finish.
3. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS
3.1 Construction.
3.1.1 Lock. The cabinet closure panel shall lock automatically upon closing or shall be provided with a tumbler lock and key, all keyed alike.
3.1.2 Cabinet opening. The cabinet opening for acceptance of toilet tissue rolls conforming to CID A-A-697 shall be a minimum of 4-5/8 inches (117.5 mm) in width, height, and depth.
